Study Facilities at The Fashion and Textile Gallery.

education

We look forward to welcoming you to The Fashion & Textile Gallery Study Facilities.

Visitors to the study facilities have access to The Darnell Collection, permanently based at the Gallery. The Collection consists of approximately 5,500 examples of garments, accessories and textiles, dating from the 18th century through to the present day. A large number of rare books, journals, pamphlets and international museum exhibition catalogues are also available for study.

Visitors are able to book a study table to look at a selection of items from the Darnell Collection or books on the history of dress. Up to 3 items will be available to view and some can be handled. This is a wonderful way to see up close the finer details and inner workings of historic and vintage fashion.

Study tables can be booked every Tuesday morning or afternoon for one hour sessions. Sessions begin at 10:00 and run until 15:00. We can tailor-make sessions according to your needs.

For more information, costs or to book a study table, e-mail us at bookings@ftgallery.com.au.
