Exhibition: History of Wool in Fashion:
From 1740 - 2010

The History of Wool exhibition will feature historic wool garments and accessories from the early 18th century, through to 20th century garments by iconic Australian designers Akira and Michelle Jank through to the winning TAWFA wool designers for 2010.

This exhibition will celebrate the history of wool in garments from around the world and will focus on the history and development of the wool industry in Australia. Special installations will reinforce the importance of wool in our history. Worksheets will be available for students and information pamphlets will be included in the admission fee. Lectures will be held throughout the exhibition and will incorporate themes such as felting, garment construction, famous wool brands, and knitting.

This exhibition will run during the World Wool Congress to be held in Sydney in March 2010.
