We aim to nurture the creative spirit of the local Sydney and Australian Fashion Industry through exhibitions, lectures, practical classes and functions.

The Sewing Room at The Fashion & Textile Gallery offers sewing and design classes catering to all skill levels from the complete novice to the relative expert, guided by experienced, highly qualified instructors in one-off sessions or short courses.

The Darnell Collection, recognised as the country's most significant private clothing collection, is an exceptional resource permanently housed in The Fashion & Textile Gallery. Open to the public, this unparalleled collection provides the opportunity to study at leisure some of its 5500 exquisite historical garments and accessories.
